US Stainless: Reliable Stainless Steel Hardware for Marine and Coastal Applications
Operating out of Richmond, Virginia, we are a small, family-owned business that offers an extensive range of AISI 316 stainless steel hardware suitable for boats, sailing, and living near the beach, where rust and corrosion are major concerns.
Our Shackle Line: Versatile Connectors for Various Applications Metal shackles are the most commonly used hardware for connecting chains or ropes. They can be utilized in a variety of applications, such as towing, anchor lines, and dock lines. Shackles are classified based on their shape, material, size, and working load limit. While different shackle shapes serve different purposes, our line of shackles is made from type 316 stainless steel, which is considered the best-in-class material for its exceptional corrosion resistance and durability, even in the harshest conditions. Commonly referred to as "Surgical Steel," 316 stainless steel is the go-to grade for food handling and medical applications.
Diverse Shackle Designs for Varied Needs Bow Shackles: The curvature of the bow allows for loads along various angles without developing a bend, making them ideal for connecting chains to anchors. Wide D Shackles: The wider body maximizes the mounting area, making them suitable for use on mooring buoys. Hex Pin Shackles: The hex pin design creates a non-snag surface, making them great for connecting to anchors. Anti-Off Shackles: The safety pin prevents the shackle from unlocking, making them ideal for permanent connections. US Type D Shackles: The larger US-type pin allows for higher load limits, making them suitable for in-line loads where a normal pin might bend. US Type Bow Shackles: The larger US-type pin provides higher load limits, making them perfect for situations where a normal pinned bow shackle might bend. Long D Shackles: The longer body allows for a greater weight-to-strength ratio. Twist Shackles: These are great when you need to rotate gear for connection, without using two connectors. Key Pin Shackles: The quick-release key pin design allows for single-handed operation, making them ideal for situations where the shackle must be undone frequently. D Shackles: The shape and curvature make D shackles suitable for inline loads, but they should not be side-loaded as this can cause bending.
